Djokovic, Tsitsipas, Rublev, Khachanov enter QFs of Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships

Patna : Top seed & World No 1 Novak Djokovic, 32, Serbia, 2nd seed Stefanos Tsitsipas, 21, Greece, 6th seed Andrey Rublev, 21, Russia, and 7th seed Karen Khachanov, 23, Russia, entered the quarter-finals of Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships, an ATP Tour 500 event at Dubai, UAE, on February 26, 2020.

Djokovic crushed World No 80 Philipp Kohlschreiber, 36, Germany, 6-3, 6-1 only 59 minutes in second round winning 4 break points and 5 games in a row. Djokovic broke Kohlschreiber’s service three-times in second set. Both the players served 2 Aces each in the match. The Serbian, in all, won 55 points to 33 by the German.

World No 6 Tsitsipas beat World No 47 Alexander Bublik, 22, Kazakhstan, 7-6, 6-4 in 95 minutes in 2nd round winning 1 break points and 3 games in a row. Bublik fired 4 Aces in the match to 3 by the Greek. Bublik, however, also committed 5 double faults. Tsitsipas, in all, won 84 points to 62 by Bublik.

World No 14 Andrey Rublev, 22, Russia, beat World No 33 Filip Krajinovic, 29, Serbia, 7-6, 6-0 in second round. Rublev fired 12 Aces in the match to 1 by the Serbian,  The Russian, who has won 2 titles this year, won 6 break points in the match to 3 by the Serbian. He won 7 games in a row to 3 by Krajinovic. Rublev, in all, won 85 points to 63 by Krajinovic. Rublev will face Daniel Evans, UK, in QFs on February 27, 2020.

World No 17 Karen Khachanov entered the QFs beating qualifier Dennis Novak, Austria, 6-3, 6-4 in 2nd round winning 3 games in a row. The Russian also won 1 break point.

World No 34 Jan -Lennard Struff, 29, Germany, routed World No 29 Nikoloz Basilashvili, 28, Georgia, 6-1, 6-0 in 2nd round winning 5 break points and 7 games in a row to enter the QFs. Struff fired 7 Aces in the match to 1 by Basilashvili.
