Patna : Three time champion Novak Djokovic, 31, Serbia, entered the quarter-finals of Wimbledon tennis championship after July 9, 2018, midnight, defeating World No 40 Karen Khachanov, 22, Russia, in the Round of 16.
Djokovic, currently World No 21, beat Khachanov 6-4, 6-2, 6-2 in the Round of 16 to reach the quarter-finals. Djokovic, who won the Wimbledon singles title in 2011, 2014, and 2015, won 7 break points to 2 by Khachanov. Both the players committed one double fault each. Djokovic also won 5 games in a row in the match to just 2 by Khachanov. Khachanov, however, hit 4 Aces to just 2 by Djokovic.
Djokovic, the 12th seed, will play World No 28 Kei Nishikori, 28, Japan, in the QF while top seed and World No 2 Roger Federer, 26, Switzerland, will meet World No 8 Kevin Anderson, 32, South Africa. World No 10 John Isner, 33, USA, will meet 13th seed and World No 32 Milos Raonic in the QF.
