Patna : World No 1 & top seed Novak Djokovic, 34, Serbia, beat World No 121 Tallon Griekspoor, 25, Netherlands, in straight sets to march into the men’s singles 3rd round at US Open on September 3, 2021, early morning. Djokovic beat Griekspoor 6-2, 6-3, 6-2 in 2nd round.

Djokovic, who is chasing a Calendar Slam having already won the Australian, French Open, and Wimbledon titles in 2021, hammered 13 Aces during the match to 5 by Griekspoor. The Serbian won 6 break points during the match to 1 by Griekspoor. He also won 5 games in a row during the match to 2 by Griekspoor. Djokovic, in all, won 90 points in the match to 58 by Griekspoor. He will face World No 56 Kei Nishikori, 31, Japan, in third round on September 4, 2021.
