Patna : World No 1 Novak Djokovic, 31, Serbia, World No 13 Borna Coric, 22, Croatia, and World No 57 Felix Auger-Aliassime, 18, Canada, entered the Round of 16 of  Miami Open at Florida, USA, on March 25, 2019.

Djokovic beat World No 83 Federico Delbonis, 28, Argentina, in a tough three-set contest 7-5, 4-6, 6-1 in 2 hours in the 3rd round at Hard Rock Stadium, Florida. Djokovic broke Delboni’ service 5 times while the latter broke his service thrice. Djokovic also won 5 games in a row in the match to 4 by Delbonis. Djokovic’s winning percentage both on his first and second serve ( 77% & 57%) was better than that of Delbonis (67% & 48%). But, Delbonis fired 8 Aces in the match to 3 by Djokovic. Delbonis, however, also committed 5 double faults to 3 by Djokovic.

Djokovic will face World No World No 25 Roberto Bautista Agut, 30, Spain, in the 4th round on March 26. Agut beat World No 17 Fabio Fognini, 31, Italy, 6-4, 6-4 in the 3rd round on late March 24, 2019, night.

Coric beat World No 40 Jeremy Chardy, 32, France, 6-7, 6-2, 6-3 in the third round. Both the players fired 12 Aces each in the match. But, Coric broke Chardy’s service 4 times while the latter broke his service only once. Both the players also won 3 games each in the match. Coric’s winning percentage both on his first and second serve ( 73% & 62%) was better than that of Chardy ( 68% & 57%).

Aliassime beat World No 54 Hubert Hurakacz, 22, Poland, 7-6, 6-4 in the 3rd round winning 1 break point besides winning 3 games in a row. Aliassime fired 7 Aces in the match to 6 by Hurkacz. Aliassime will face World No 19 Nikoloz Basilashvili, 27, Georgia, in the 4th round.

World No 33 Nick Kyrgios, 23, Australia, beat World No 44 Dusan Lajovic, 28, Serbia, 6-3, 6-1 to enter the 4th round hammering 12 Aces. Kyrgios won 5 break points to 1 by Lajovic. He also won 6 games in a row in the match to 2 by Lajovic. Kyrgios will face Coric in the 4th round.

World No 9 John Isner, 33, USA, the defending champion, will face World No 22 Kyle Edmund, 24, UK, in the 4th round. Isner defeated World No 86 Albert Ramos-Vinolas, 31, Spain, 7-5, 7-6 in the 3rd round while Edmund beat World No 14 Milos Raonic, 28, Canada, 6-4, 6-4.
