Djokovic, Fognini enter 2nd round of Rogers Cup

Patna : World No 10 in ATP rankings and winner of 13 Grand Slam titles Novak Djokovic, 31, Serbia, and World No 14 Fabio Fognini, 31, Italy, entered the second round of Rogers Cup tennis tournament at Toronto, Canada, on August 7, 2018, late night.

Djokovic beat World No 84 Mirza Basic, 27, Bosnia & Herzegovina, 6-3, 7-6 in aclose contest in the first round. Djokovic fired 9 Aces in the match to 3 by Mirza Basic. Djokovic also committed 4 double faults to 2 by his rival. Djokovic won 3 break points while Basic won 2.

Fognini beat World No 33 Steve Johnson, 28, USA, 6-4, 6-4 in the first round. Fognini commited 3 double faults in the match. World No 27 Stefanos Tsitsipas, 19, Greece, beat World No 24 Damir Dzumhur, 26,  Bosnia & Herzegovina, 6.3, 7-6 in the first round. Tsitsipas fired 11 Aces in the match to 4 by Dzumhur.

World No 41 Frances Tiafoe, USA, beat World No 21 Marco Cecchinato, 25, Italy, 7-6, 6-1 in the first round. Both the players committed 7double faults each.
