Djokovic, who had lost in the second round of Madid Open recently, defeated World N0 54 Alexander Dolgopolov, Ukraine, 29, 6-1, 6-3 in the first round. Kohlschreiber defeated Karen Kachanov, 21, Russia, 7-5, 6-7, 7-6 to enter the second round.
