Patna : World No 1 Novak Djokovic, 34, Serbia, beat qualifier Alex Molcan, 23, Slivakia, in straight sets in final to lift the Belgrade Open singles title at Belgrade, Serbia, on May 29, 2021, his second ATP of the year. Top seed Djokovic defeated World No 255 Molcan 6-4, 6-3 in final in 1hr 28 minutes to win the singles title, his 83rd career title, besides 250 Rankings points and lus prize money. Molcan secured 150 Rankings points plus prize money.
Djokovic won 6 break points during the match to 4 by Molcan. Djokovic also won 3 games in a row to 2 by the Slovak. The World No 1 though also committed 3 double faults to none by the Slovak. Djokovic, who had won his 8th Australian Open title early this year, won 63 points during the match to 48 by Molcan. Serbian lost his service thrice in the first set. It was Molcan’s first ATP Tour Final.
