Patna: Trees coming under Patna Airport runway approach area would be pruned. For this, survey of trees will be carried out and marked. Divisional Commissioner, Patna, Sanjay Kumar Agrawal, has instructions to officials concerned to identify all trees coming in Patna Airport runway approach area and complete pruning work by August 15, 2020.
A meeting of Airport Environment Management Committee was held through video-conferencing on July 16, 2020, under chairmanship of Divisional Commissioner cum Chairman, Airport Environment Management Committee, Sanjay Kumar Agarwal. Patna DM Kumar Ravi, Municipal Commissioner Himanshu Sharma, Airport director BCH Negi, Patna Airport Aircraft Steering Committee chairman Rupesh Singh, Airport Commandant and officials of all airlines were present on occasion.
Agarwal directed that all fish-meat shops operating around airport on Phulwarisharif side should be surveyed and removed. Garbage disposal should be carried out in systematic manner. For this, directive was issued to have coordination with corporation for lifting wastes.
There is no light on main road outside Airport, it remains dark. Earlier, street lights were removed on directions of Airport
Authority. But at July 16, 2020, meeting, it was agreed if the low-height street lights are installed then Airport Authority would have no
objection. City commissioner was instructed to visit the spot himself and put lights under airport authority’s supervision so that there
would not be darkness at night and passengers would not feel insecure.
Patna Traffic SP was instructed to see there is no illegal parking of vehicles on main road leading to airport. The Divisional
Commissioner said that e-chalan should be issued if vehicle-owners park their vehicles illegally there. The offcials were also instructed to issue challan to owners of unauthorised parking on main road outside airport.
The issue of waterlogging around airport was also discussed. City Commissioner and Executive Officer were instructed to continuously monitor and clean nearby drains.
It was stated to make sure that PPE kits is not thrown by any passengers while coming out of Airport. Proper disposal of this is
necessary. Airport Authority has been directed to collect all such wastes and hand over to the same Municipal Corporation for disapoassal.
