Patna : Rajesh Kumar, DIG, Central Range, Patna, comprising Patna and Nalanda districts, on January 19, 2019, launched ” Speedy Investigation Mission” with a view to changing the quality and speed of investigation of cases under the range.

Speedy investigation of cases is the foundation of police functioning, the DIG said adding the investigation of cases needs to be faster. DIG Rajesh Kumar has directed Police Inspectors/DSPs to complete the supervision of cases within 10 days of the reporting of a case failing which they would not be allowed to supervise that case.

The police diary of a  case should not exceed 15 pages and the investigating officers would have to comply with this directive, DIG Rajesh Kumar said. The case diary would include statements of 7 to 8 witnesses, facts of the case, and scientific analysis besides conclusion of FSL report, Injury Report, Seizure list, and Post-Mortem Report, DIG Rajesh Kumar said. The respective SPs would issue the Supervision-2  with 20 days, the DIG added.
