Diez upsets Gunneswaran in QFs of ATP Challenger Ningbo

Patna : Top seed Prajnesh Gunneswaran, 29, India, lost to 11th seed Steven Diez, Canada, in the quarter-finals of ATP Ningbo Challenger at Ningbo in China on October 18, 2019. World No 156 Steven Diez, 28, Canada, upset World No 82 Gunneswaran in straight sets 6-3, 6-4 to advance to semi-finals of the tournament held on hard courts at Ningbo, China.

Third seed and World No 101 Alejandro Davidovich Fokina, 20, Spain, beat World No 332 Borna Gojo, 21, Croatia, in a tough contest 6-7, 6-2, 6-4 in the quarter-finals. Fokina will face Diez in the semi-finals on October 19, 2019.
