Sitamarhi:  Bihar CM Nitish Kumar, in an apparent reference to the period when he was heading the Grand Alliance government comprising JD(U), RJD and Congress, on December 14, 2017, said that a situation had arisen for a while that hurt the pace of development works in the state but now it is back on track.

” I want to see the progress of development works that’s why am here. A situation had developed for a while in state politics that hurt the pace of development but now it is on track.” Nitish said while addressing a public meeting at village Bakhari under Dumra block in Sitamarhi district during his Vikas Samiksha Yatra to the district.

The CM said the Panchayat level representatives should not bother about their rights and privileges. Decentralization of power is required. After all our objective is development under the ‘Saat Nishchay’ (seven resolutions), he said. Prohibition, prevention of child marriage and abolition of dowry system are most urgently required social reforms. Our government has initiated these reforms, he said.
The CM exhorted people to participate in human chain to be formed on January 21, 2018, across Bihar for elimination of social evils like dowry and child marriage. He also said that all the villages and households would be electrified by the end of year 2018 and work is going on war footing. Nitish also said that crime graph has shown a downturn in Bihar.

The CM announced that he has called a meeting of the Principal Secretaries of all the Government Departments, all MPs, MLAs, MLCs from Vaishali, Muzaffarpur, Sitamarhi and Sheohar districts at Muzaffarpur to review progress of different schemes undertaken in these districts. He inaugurated and laid the foundation stones through remote control of a bunch of projects and schemes worth Rs 439 crore.
Nitish was accompanied by Chief Secretary A K Singh, DGP PK Thakur, Urban Development Minister Suresh Kumar Sharma, R K Sharma, MP, former minister and Tirhut MLC Devesh Chandra Thakur, former minister and MLA Ranju Geeta besides Sitamarhi DM Rajiv Raushan and SP Hari Prasath S.
The CM expressed satisfaction after visiting Bakhari Mahadalit Tola ward–6 soon after his arrival by a chopper. He saw several on going government schemes and inspected the water supply system. Nitish lauded the role of district administration under the supervision of DM Rajiv Raushan.
