Patna : World Number 9 in ATP rankings Juan Martin del Porto, 29, Argentina, defeated World Number 8 Kevin Anderson, 31, South Africa, in the final of Mexico Open Tennis Championship at Acapulco on March 4, 2018, to lift the Men’s singles title. Mexico Open Tennis, an ATP 500 event, is played on outdoor Hard Courts. It was the 25th edition of the Men’s championship.

del Porto, seeded sixth in thetournament, defeated Number 5 seed Anderson 6-4, 6-4 in the final to win the Men’s singles title, his 21st singles title. It is del Porto’s first title in 2018. He had defeated World Number 5 Alexander Zverev, 20, in the semi-final, and World Number 6 Dominic Thiem, 26, Austria, in the quarter-finals.

Number 7 seed Lesia Tsurenko, 28, Ukraine,  defeated unseeded Stefanie Voegele, 27, Switzerland, 5-7, 7-6, 6-2 in the final to clinch the Women’s singles title. World Number 40 in WTA rankings released on February 26, 2018, Tsurenko was the defending champion. It was Voegele’s first WTA final. She was ranked 183rd in the world before this tournament.
