Sitamarhi : There was ruckus at Sadar Hospital Sitamarhi in North Bihar  on November 8, 2021, night, after death of a person allegedly under police custody. The  big crowd was angry over the the death of Vishwanath Chaudhary, 52, under police custody.

Police headed by SP Har Kishore Rai had to face difficult times in pacifying the crowd. The locals demanding the arrest of policemen involved in the heinous torture process at Mehsaul OP under Sitamarhi Town police station (PS). The Mehsaul OP had team arrested Vishwanath Chaudhary allegedly in a drunken state from near his house in Krishna Nagar locality in Sitamarhi November 8, 2021,  morning. The family members alleged that he was tortured under police custody and succumbed tohis injuries. The doctors pronounced him brought dead, the family members said. But, police said that Vishwanath Chaudhary was critically ill when he admitted to the hospital and died during the course of treatment in the emergency ward.
The Sitamarhi SP  assured the angry local of suitable action against the culprits after investigation. A medical board has been constituted for autopsy. The Mehsaul OP incharge M. Ali has been transferred and an investigation team has been formed to look into the matter.
The locals and family members of the deceased staged dharna and blocked the busy Mehsaul Chowk on November 9, 2021, for hours causing a lot of hardships to Chhatha Puja devotees. The blockade was lifted after long persuasion by the officials.
