Ara : Panic grips Bhojpur district after one Surendra Pandit, 58, suffering from cold, cough, and fever and quarantined, breathed his last on April 21, 2020, afternoon, at Ara Sadar Hospital, before the doctors could start his treatment there.

Two sons of Surendra Pandit had reportedly returned home from Haryana a few days back and they were home quarantined after medical examination at village Charpokhari under the same police station. Their father Surendra Pandit was also suffering from cold, cough, and fever and also had breathing problem. He was admitted to Charpokhari Primary Health Centre (PHC) on April 20, 2020, evening, but the doctor referred him to Ara Sadar Hospital on April 21, 2020, where he breathed his last before the doctor could examine him and start his treatment.

His death triggered panic in and around the Sadar Hospital. All the doctors, paramedical staffs, and other came out of Ara Sadar Hospital. The doctors said that the medical examination of the deceased is must and his swab is being sent to Patna for pathological examination to ascertain whether he died due to Coronavirus or some other diseases.

It may be mentioned here that a 25 year old man was found Coronavirus positive at village Rampur under Krishnagarh police station  block in Bhojpur district on April 19, 2020. He had come from Delhi to his native village Rampur via Kanpur and Balia in Uttar Pradesh. Bhojpur district administration sealed the Rampur village and took swabs of his family members and other persons who had come into  his contact and sent the same to Patna for pathological examination.
