Sudhir Kumar Rakesh, IAS (Retd.)

Patna : In a shocking development, one of the most respected members of the legal fraternity, Justice (Retd.) Ajay Kumar Tripathi, former Justice of Patna High Court, former Chief Justice of Chhattisgarh High Court, and serving Lokpal Member of India, left on May 2, 2020,  for his heavenly abode. He had tested positive for COVID-19 and was under treatment at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) New Delhi for about a month.

Known for his legal acumen, he had been a relentless crusader against corruption as a Judge. He was a strict disciplinarian in his professional conduct, yet a very compassionate human being. He was ever willing to listen to the problems of the needy and would try to lend a helping hand wherever possible. His sad demise is a great loss to the legal fraternity and the society in general and to the people of Bihar in general. Of course, people who knew him or were close to him, for them the loss is simply unbearable. The society as well as the nation mourn the death of one of the great sons of India today. May his soul rest in peace!
