Patna : Delhi Capitals (DC) beat Rajasthan Royals (RR) by 6 wickets in the 40th match of IPL-12 at Sawai Mansingh Stadium, Jaipur, Rajasthan, on April 22, 2019, night, with Rishabh Pant (wk) scoring an unbeatenĀ  78 in 36 balls hitting 6 fours and 4 sixes. DC had won the toss but opted to bowl. DC have now 14 points from 11 matches and are on top of the points table. RR have 6 points from 10 matches.

Replying to RR’s 191/6 in 20 overs, DC scored 193/4 in 19.2 overs with its openers Prithvi Shaw and Shikhar Dhawan scoring 42 and 54 runs respectively adding 72 runs for the first wicket. Both Shaw and Dhawan fell to spinner Shreyas Gopal. Dhawan scored 54 in 27 balls hitting 8 fours and 2 sixes while Shaw scored 42 in 39 balls hitting 4 fours and a six. Captain Shreyas Iyer fell to Riyan Parag for 4 while Sherfane Rutherfird made 11.

Earlier, batting first RR had scored 191/6 with Ajinkya Rahane scoring an unbeaten 105 in 63 balls hitting 11 fours and 3 sixes, his 2nd IPL century, and captain Steven Smith scoring 50 in 32 balls hitting 8 fours.
