Patna : World No 102 in WTA rankings Dayana Yastremska, 18, Ukraine, stunned World No 24 Qiang Wang, 26, China, on October 14, 2018, to win Hong Kong Open singles title, her first WTA title.
Dayana beat Qiang Wang 6-2, 6-1 in 65 minute in the final of Hong Kong Open tennis championship. She served 4 Aces in the match to 3 by Wang. Dayana, however, committed 5 double faults to just 1 by Wang. But, Dayana also won 5 break points besides winning 8 games in a row.
Wang had beaten winner of 2 Grand Slam titles and World No 13 Garbine Mugruguza, 25, Spain, in the semi-finals on October 13. She had also upset World No 5 Elina Svitolina, 24, Ukraine, in the quarter-finals on October 12.
