Sitamarhi: Some unidentified armed dacoits looted cash and jewellery worth Rs 1.9 lakh from the house of Hari Narain Rai, a farmer, and mercilessly beat up the family members at village Supilgadha under Bajpatti police station in Sitamarhi district on February 20, 2018, night. House owner Hari Narain Rai said that after thrashing him and his family members, the dacoits locked them in a room. SHO, Bajpatti police station, Kanchan Bhaskar said that raids are on to nab the criminals.
It was the third incident of dacoity at Hari Narain Rai’s house. In 1983, the dacoits had looted property and killed his father Chet Narain Rai. In 2010, the dacoits had looted property worth over Rs 2.20 lakh.
