Sitamarhi: Around 25 masked armed dacoits looted cash and jewellery worth Rs 2.5 lakh from the house of a high school teacher Dip Lal Rai at village Gadhwa in Sheohar district on Wednesday night. The dacoits scaled the outer wall of the house and beat the house inmates mercilessly. They even locked the family members in aroom and looted property. The dacoits escaped with the booty before the arrival of police taking advantage of darkness. A few family members Rai are undergoing treatment at a private nursing home. Sheohar police station sources said raids were on to nab the criminals but no one has been arrested in this connection so far.
