New Delhi : The Cyclonic Storm ‘TAUKTAE’ weakened into a deep depression and lay centred at 8.30 pm on May 18, 2021, over Saurashtra, near Lat. 23.6°N and Long. 72.6°E, about 60 km North- Northeast of Ahmedabad, Gujarat, according to the National Weather Forecasting Centre of the India Meteorological Department (IMD). It would further move North-Northeastwards and weaken gradually into a depression during next 12 hours . The forcast is light to moderate rainfall at many places with heavy to very heavy falls at isolated places over Gujarat region on May 18, 2021.
Gale winds speed reaching 50-60 KMPH gusting to 70 KMPH likely to prevail over Surendranagar, Rajkot, Anand, Ahmedabad: 40-50 KMPH gusting to 60 KMPH over Amreli, Bhavnagar, Botad, Diu, Gir Somnath, Junagarh, Kheda, Bharuch, Jamnagar, Porbandar, and Morbi during next few hours and gradually decrease thereafter.
Squally wind speed reaching 45-55 KMPH gusting to 65 KMPH is likely to prevails over South Rajasthan from the evening of May 18 till May 19, 2021, early morning, according to a PIB release
