Patna : Chennai Super Kings (CSK) scored 179/4 in 20 overs against Delhi Capitals (DC) in 50th match of IPL-12 at M A Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, on May 1, 2019, night, with Suresh Ranina scoring 59 in 37 balls hitting 8 fours and a six and captain M S Dhoni scoring an unbeaten 44 in 22 balls with 4 fours and 3 sixes. DC fast bowler Trent Boult leaked 21 runs the 20th over with Dhoni hitting 2 consecutive sixes. DC had won the toss but opted to bowl.

Batting first, CSK lost their first wicket that of opener Shane Watson with only 4 runs on board. Watson fell to spinner Jagdeesha Suchith for a duck. His opening partner Faf du Plessis then added 83 runs with Suresh Raina for the 2nd wicket. Du Plessis fell to spinner Axar Patel for 39 in 41 balls hitting 2 fours and 2 sixes. Raina fell to Suchith when the score was 102. All-rounder Ravindra Jadeja scored 25 in 10 balls with 2 fours and 2 sixes. He fell to Chris Morris making it 145/4.

For DC, Jagdeesha Suchith took 2/28 in 4 overs while Chris Morris took 1/47 in 4 overs.  Axar Patel took 1/31.
