Patna : Chennai Super Kings (CSK) beat Punjab Kings (PK) by 6 wickets in the 8th match of IPL 2021 at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai, with their fast bowler Deepak Chahar taking 4/13 in 4 overs and opener Faf du Plessis scoring an unbeaten 36 in 33 balls with 3 fours and 1 six.
Moeen Ali scored 46 in 31 balls with 7 fours and 1 six. Suresh Raina fell to fast bowler Mohd Shami for 8. Ambati Rayudu also fell to Shami for zero. Chasing a target of 107 runs, CSK scored 107/4 in 15.4 overs. CSK had won the toss and opted to bowl.
Batting first, PK scored just 106/8 in 20 overs with Shahrukh Khan scoring 47 in 36 balls hitting 4 fours and 2 sixes while Captain Lokesh Rahul (opener) was run out for 5 by a brilliant direct hit from all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja.
