Ruturaj Gaikwad and Faf du Plessis added 82 runs for the 1st wicket. Ambati Rayudu remained unbeaten on 30 in 30 balls with 2 fours. Replying to KXIP’s 153/6 in 20 overs, CSK scored 154/1 in 18.5 overs. CSK won the toss and opted to bowl. Gaikwad was named Player Of The Match.
It was CSK’s 6th win in 14 matches and they have now 12 points. For KXIP, it was their 8th defeat in 14 matches and they too have 12 points.

Chris Gayle was lbw to spinner Imran Tahir for 12 in 19 bals and it was 72/4. Mandeep Singh fell to spinner Ravindra Jadeja for 14 and it was 108/5. James Neesham fell to Ngidi for 2 making it 113/6 in 17.1 overs. Deepak Hooda scored an explosive unbeaten 62 in 30 balls with 3 fours and 4 sixes and added 40 runs with Chris Jordan in their unbroken partnership for the 7th wicket.
