Patna : Chennai Super Kings (CSK) crushed Delhi Capitals (DC)  by 80 runs in the 50th match of IPL-12 at M A Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, on May 1, 2019, late night, with Ravindra Jadeja taking 3/9 in 3 overs and Imran Tahir taking 4/12 in 3.2 overs. Replying to CSK’s 179/4 in 20 overs, DC were all out for just 99 in 16.2 overs with captain Shreyas Iyer scoring 44 in 31 balls with 4 fours and a six.. DC had lost their 2nd wicket at 52 but collapsed to be all out for 99. DC had won the toss but opted to bowl. CSK have now 18 points from 13 matches while DC have 16 points from 13 matches.

Chasing a target of 180, DC lost their first wicket that of opener Prithvi Shaw with only 4 run on board. Shaw fell to pacer Deepak Chahar for 4. His opening partner Shikhar Dhawan fell to spinner Harbhajan Singh for 19 making it 52/2.

Rishabh Pant fell to spinner Imran Tahir for 5 making it 63/3 while Colin Ingram fell to spinner Ravindra Jadeja for 1 making it 65/4. Axar Patel fell to Tahir for 9 and it was 81/5 while Sherfane Rutherford fell to Tahir for 2 making it 83/6. Chris Morris fell to Jadeja for zero and it was 84/7. Shreyas Iyer fell to Jadeja and it was 85/8. Jagdeesh Suchith was run out for 6 making it 92/9. Amit Mishra fell to Tahir for 8.

Batting first, CSK had scored 179/4 with ope ner Faf du Plessis scoring 39, Suresh Raina 59, and captain M S Dhoni an unbeaten 44 in 22 balls with 4 four and 3 sixes. Ravindra Jadeja scored 25 in 10 balls with 2 four s and 2 sixes.
