Patna : Chennai Super Kings (CSK) beat Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) by 6 wickets in the 41st match of IPL-12 at M A Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, on April 23, 2019, night, with opener Shane Watson, Australia, scoring 96 in 53  balls hitting 9 fours and 6 huge sixes. Watson was particularly severe on SRH spinner Rashid Khan taking him to the cleaners. Rashid Khan, who took 1/44 in 4 overs, conceded 31 runs in his last 2 overs.

Replying to SRH’s 175/3, CSK scored 176/4 in 19.5 overs. It was CSK’s 8th win 11 matches and now they head the points table with 16 points. SRH have 10 points from 10 matches.

Chasing the target of 176, CSK lost their first wicket that of  opener Faf du Plessis when the score was just 3. Faf du Plessis was run out. Watson then added 77 runs with Suresh Raina for the 2nd wicket. Raina fell to spinner Rashid Khan for 38 in 24 balls hitting 6 fours and a six. Watson fell to Bhuvaneshwar Prasad in the 18th over making it 160/3. Rayudu fell to Sandeep Sharma on the 4th ball of the 20th over for 21 making it 175/4. Kedar Jadhav, who scored the winning run, remained unbeaten on 11 with a six.
