Motihari : Archana Mishra, 32, wife of Sanjay Kumar Mishra, a CRPF Inspector posted in J&K, committed suicide in the wee hours on June 20, 2020, by hanging herself from the ceiling of a room at her house in Chandmari locality of Motihari Town. Police sent the body to Motihari Sadar Hospital for autopsy.
SDPO, Motihari, Arun Kumar Gupta, said that Archana Mishra and husband Sanjay Kumar Mishra retired to bed in their room on June 19, 2020, night, but in morning hours Archana hanged herself from the ceiling of another room.
In an FIR lodged with Town Police Station in East Champaran District in this connection, Gayatri Devi, mother of Archana, alleged that her daughter was married to Sanjay Kumar Mishra in 2004 and was ever since being tortured by her husband and in-laws for more dowry, the SDPO said. Police are investigating into the incident.
