Criminals loot Rs 8 lakh in Samastipur

Samastipur: Criminals riding bikes looted Rs 8 lakh at Madudabad Chowk under Mohiuddinnagar police station in Samastipur district at 8.30 pm on Saturday. The amount was to be loaded into ATMs of Central Bank of India and the State Bank of India. The criminals also shot at the security guards of the cash van carrying money when one of the guard opened fire at them.

The guards Sanjay Kumar of Aurangabad and Vishwa Vijay Thakur of Muzaffarpur were seriously injured in the incident. The criminals escaped towards Vidyapatinagar. They were waiting for the van near the two houses where the two ATMs are installed. The injured guards were rushed to Patna for treatment in precarious condition. SDPO Patori Ravish Kumar confirmed the incident and said that raids were on to nab the criminals involved in the incident.
