Samastipur : Four bike armed criminals looted Rs 52 lakh from the cash van of LIC on Tazpur Road in Samastipur district at 2 pm on August 30, 2018. They also shot dead a guard when he resisted them. The criminals looted the cash when it was being loaded in cash van on Tazpur road in front of LIC office to deposit the amount into a private bank. When the guard resisted them, the criminals fired on him killing him on the spot and escaped.
Samastipur SP Deepak Ranjan reached spot soon after the incident to make an on the spot inquiry into the incident. Police are conducting raids to arrest the criminals and recover the cash looted by them. The deceased guard was identified as Deenbandhu Jha.
