Criminals loot Rs 29,500 from train passengers at Kajra station

Munger : Armed criminals looted Rs 29,500 cash and 12 cellphones from the passengers of a bogie of Danapur- Bhagalpur Intercity Express around midnight on December 15, 2017,  at Kajra railway station in Munger district. The criminals also assaulted few passengers who resisted them and got down from the train before it reached Abhaypur railway station, a remote station.

SP, Railways, Jamalpur, Shankar Jha, on December 16 said the incident came to light when the train reached Jamalpur railway station, the next station after Abhaypur, and an FIR was lodged in connection with the incident.

SRP, Jamalpur, Jha said that all the criminals involved in the loot were locals and police were trying to identify them. They will be arrested soon, he said. He said that the criminals started looting the passengers as soon as the train left Kajra railway station. The whole operation lasted for around 15 minutes, he said adding the criminals got down from the train when it was slowing down to stop at Abhaypur railway station.
