Criminals fire at engineer’s car at Danapur, driver injured

Patna: Two bike borne criminals fired on the car of an Executive Engineer (EE) posted tin Sheghati in Gaya district Kapildev Kumar on November 17 morning at T point on Gola Road under Danapur police station in Patna district. The bullet hit the shoulder of driver Anand who was rushed to Danapur sub-divisional hospital where he was treated.

City SP, Patna, reached the hospital and spoke to both EE Kapildev and driver Anand. EE Kapildev said that   sometime back some people had demanded `Rangdari’ ( extortion money) from him at Sherghati. Apparently, the criminals fired on his car to terrorise him after his refusal to pay the extortion amount to them. They fired on his car when he was going to Patna Junction to catch a train for Gaya and fled away. The bullet was fired by the pillion rider. Police are trying to identify the criminals and locate then on the basis of CCTV footage and information given by the EE  regarding Rangdari demand from him at Sherghati.
