Saharsa : Four armed criminals led by Suraj Yadav entered the house of Raj Kumar Chaudhary, Mukhia of Raipura Panchayat under Simribakhtiarpur Block in Saharsa district, at 2 pm on July 4, 2017, and demanded an extortion ( Rangdari) of Rs 3 lakh from him. They threatened him with dire consequence if fails to pay the amount to them. When Chaudhary expressed his inability to pay the amount saying he does not take money from anyone, Suraj Yadav took out Rs 4,000 cash from his pocket and also assaulted him.
Chaudhary has lodged an FIR with Simribakhtiarpur police station in this connection against four criminals including Suraj Yadav, Subhash Yadav ans Suraj Yadav’s cousin. Chaudhary on July 5 said that the criminals entered his house when he was talking to four persons on the verandah. They surrounded him and threatened to shoot him he tried to escape, he said adding that Suraj told him that he had demanded Rs 3 lakh from him in April 2017 itself.
SHO, Simribakhtiarpur PS, Umashankar Kamat, said that an FIR had been registered in this connection and all the named accused would be arrested soon.
