Criminal demands Rs 20 lakh from Sitamarhi doctor

Sitamarhi:  An unidentified criminal has demanded Rs 20 lakh as Rangdari tax (extortion money) from Dr Raghunath Kumar, a noted orthopaedic surgeon. The extortion demand was made on the mobile phone of Dr Kumar. He is being threatened by the criminals since August, 2017.

The caller threatened Dr Kumar with dire consequences if fails to comply with the extortion demand. An FIR has been lodged with Sitamarhi town police station in this connection and investigation is underway. SHO Anil Kumar Sharma said that security had been strengthened at Dr Kumar’s ward-28 residence.
