Criminal carrying Rs 50,000 reward on head surrenders before Sasaram court

Ara : Mantoo Kahar, a criminal carrying a reward of Rs 50,000 on his head, surrendered before Sasaram Civil Court in Rohtas district on March 1, 2019, in connection with a criminal case in Rohtas district under mounting police pressure.  Mantoo Kahar was absconding in the murder case of Kundan Singh, son of congress leader late Amarnath of Sheetal Tola under Ara Town police station, besides other cases of murder, loot, rangdari and firing. Bhojpur police will take him on remand very soon for interrogation.

Bhojpur SP Aditya Kumar said that Mantoo Kahar is a resident of Anand Nagar locality under Ara Town police station and carried a reward of Rs 50,000 on his head. He was absconding for the last seven months. Police had attached his property earlier. His associates Dhanjee Yadav and Vishwajeet Paswan had already surrendered before Ara court and were sent to jail under judicial custody.

SP Kumar said that some unidentified armed miscreants had shot at and injured Toni Kumar and Dhannu Kumar of Sheetal Tola locality under Ara Town police station near a tea- stall on August 7, 2018 night. The doctors at Sadar Hospital, Ara, had referred them to Patna Medical College and Hospital in view of their serious condition. On August 11, 2018, Kundan Singh had gone to PMCH to see the injured persons and when he was returning home on his bicycle, some miscreants shot him dead near Kulharia on Ara-Patna main road. Dhanjee Yadav and his goons figured in the FIR lodged in connection with his murder. Since Mantoo Kahar was absconding, police had pasted proclamation notice (Ishtehar) on the wall of his house and later attached his movable immovable properties on September 29, 2018.
