Ara : Hundreds of activists of the CPI (ML) blocked the road near village Bhagwanpur under Agiaw block in Bhojpur district on July 16, 2018, in protest against gang rape and murder of a middleage woman recently at village Khopira under Pawana police station on July 14, 2018, late evening. They burnt tyres on road and paralysed movement of vehicles for about three hours demanding immediate arrest of the miscreants and compensation to the next of kin of the deceased. The blockade was lifted after positive response from police officials.
It may be mentioned here that a middleage woman Kajal Devi, wife of Nand Kumar Musahar, was gangraped by three youth of village Maniachchh village at village Khopira village under Pawana police station on July 14, 2018, late evening. The miscreants also thrashed her and threw her into a bush nearby in an unconscious state. On July 15 morning, on getting information from some people who had gone there to graze their cattle, the family members took her to Ara Sadar Hospital but she succumbed to her injuries during treatment in the same evening.
