Ara : Hundreds of activists of the CPI(ML) blocked Ara-Sasaram main road near village Garhani in Bhojpur district for about six hours on February 20, 2018, paralysing the movement of vehicles following the death of one of their members Venkatesh Sah in a road accident on February 19, 2018, evening. They were demanding Rs 10 lakh compensation to the next of kin of the deceased and suspension of the SHO, Garhani police station. The blockade was lifted after positive response from DSP, Piro, Reshu Krishna.

Venktesh Sah of village Kaup under Charpokhari police station was going to his village along with his uncle Lalan Sah from Ara in the late evening on February 19. As they reached near Garhani tri-junction, a speeding Commander jeep dashed them from behind killing Venktesh Sah on the spot and injuring his uncle. The villagers rushed them to Ara Sadar Hospital but the doctors there declared Venktesh Sah brought dead. After post-mortem on February 20, 2018, morning, the CPI-ML activists put his body on the road and blocked Ara-Sasaram main road near Garhani police station.
