New Delhi : A total of 11,605 Covid-19 patients were declared cured / discharged in last 24 hours taking the tally to 1,06,33,025 at 8 am on February 16, 2021, exceeding the number of active cases ( 1,36,872) by a whopping margin of 1,04,96,153. In sharp contrast, only 9,121 new Covid-19 cases were recorded in India in last 24 hours taking the tally to 1,09,25,710 in the country on February 16, 2021.

The active cases accounted for just 1.25 % of the total cases cases (1,09,25,710) on February 16, 2021, a drop of 2,765 cases in last 24 hours. Of the 1,09,25,710 Covid-19 cases recorded so far in India, altogether 1,06,33,025 patients have been declared cured with the recovery rate (RR) being 97.32%.

The country has tested 20,73,32,298 samples so far including 6,15,664 samples on February 15, 2021. Meanwhile, 87,20,822 healthcare workers have been vaccinated against Covid-19 so far in India including 4,35,527 beneficiaries on February 15, 2021. The Covid-19 toll climbed to 1,55,813 in India on February 16, 2021, with 81 new deaths being recorded in the country in last 24 hours.
