Patna : The number of COVID-19 cases increased to 1,19,909 in Bihar on August 22, 2020, with 2,238 more persons including 279 from Patna, 143 from East Champaran, 113 from Mdhubani, and 101 from Purnia, testing positive to it on August 21, 2020.
According to State Health Department Sources, 83 persons from Gaya, 73 from Katihar, 70 from Begusarai, 68 from Bhojpur, 68 from Rohtas, 67 from Bhagalpur, 66 from Samastipur, 65 from Aurangabad, 65 from Saharsa, 62 from Saran, 61 from Kishanganj, 61 from Muzaffarpur, and 60 from Siwan also tested COVID positive on August 21, 2020.
Of the 1,19,909 cases in Bihar, a total of 95,372 patients have been declared cured including 3,531 during last 24 hours with the recovery rate being 79.54 %. The number of active cases in the state was 23,935 on August 22,2020.
The COVID-19 death toll in the state jumped to 601 on August 22, 2020, with 13 new deaths being reported from different parts of the state including six from Bhagalpur, three from Muzaffarpur, two from Vaishali, and two from Sitamarhi.
The COVID toll jumped to 47 in Bhagalpur, 25 in Muzaffarpur, and 24 in Vaishali on August 22, 2020. The toll stands at 116 in Patna, 42 in Gaya, 28 each in Rohtas and Munger, 25 in Nalanda, 23 in East Champaran, 22 in Saran, and 21 in Bhojpur.
