Patna : COVID-19 cases jumped to 64,732 in Bihar on August 5, 2020, afternoon, with 2,701 more persons including 478 from Patna, 196 from Katihar, 164 from Saran, 104 from Vaishali, 103 from East Champaran, 99 from Bhagalpur, 90 from Muzaffarpur, 90 from Bhojpur, 90 from Madhubani, 85 from Jehanabad, 84 from Begusarai, 76 from Gaya, and 76 from Nalanda testing positive to it on August 4, 2020.
According to State Health Department sources, 72 persons have tested COVID positive in Samastipur, 66 in Rohtas, 65 in Purnia, 64 in Munger, 63 in Supaul, and 52 in West Champaran. A total of 42,370 patients have been declared cured in Bihar till date while 1,610 patients were declared cured during last 24 hours. The recovery rate is 65.45%.
Coronavirus death toll in Bihar surged to 369 on August 5, 2020, with 20 new deaths being reported from different parts of the state including six from Patna, two from Muzaffarpur, one each from Bhagalpur, Gaya, Jehanabad, Munger, Vaishali, Madhepura, and Bhojpur. The death toll has climbed to 60 in Patna, 31 in Bhagalpur, 24 in Gaya, 22 in Rohtas, 20 in Nalanda, 18 in Munger, 15 in Muzaffarpur, 14 in Bhojpur, and 13 in East Champaran. The number of active patients in Bihar stands at 21,992.
