Patna : Coronavirus (COVID-19) cases rose to 59,567 in Bihar on August 3, 2020, afternoon, with 2,297 more persons including 293 from Patna, 137 from Katihar, 130 from Begusarai, 115 from Vaishali, 96 from East Champaran, 95 from Madhubani, 91 from Gaya, 90 from Saharsa, 84 from Bhojpur, 84 from Nalanda, and 82 from Muzaffarpur, testing positive to it.
Altogether 38,508 patients have been declared cured till date with the recovery rate being 64.65%. A total of 1,871 patients were declared cured during last 24 hours in the state. The number of active cases in Bihar stands at 20,722 while 36,524 COVID samples were tested during last 24 hours, according to State Health Department sources.
The COVID-19 death toll in Bihar jumped t0 336 on August 3, 2020, with 14 new deaths being reported from different parts of the state during last 24 hours including 4 from Patna, 4 from Nalanda, 3 from Kaimur, and 2 from Munger. The death toll break-up includes : Patna (49), Bhagalpur (30), Gaya (23), Nalanda (20), Rohtas (19), and Munger (17).
