Patna : With 1,062 more persons including 226 from Patna, 72 from Saharsa, 50 from Purnia, 50 from Bhagalpur,and 48 from Araria, testing positive on October 15, 2020, the COVID-19 cases detected in Bihar rose 2,01,887 on October 16, 2020.
According to State Health Department figure, 41 persons each from Aurangabad and Muzaffarpur, 37 from East Champaran, 36 from Nawada, 33 from Katihar, 28 from Nalanda, 26 from Gopalganj, 25 from Madhubani, 24 from Madhepura, 23 from Munger, 23 from Banka, 23 from Saran, 21 from West Champaran, and 19 from Supaul, also tested positive to COVID-19 on October 15, 2020.
Of the 2,01,887 CO VID-19 cases reported in Bihar till date, altogether 1,90,256 patients have been declared cured including 1,454 during last 24 hours with the recovery rate being 94.24%. The state has tested 88,94,758 samples so far including 1,17,151 samples on October 15, 2020. The number of active cases in Bihar was 10,649 on October 16, 2020.
The COVID-19 toll jumped to 981 on October 16, 2020, with 9 new deaths being reported during last 24 hours including 7 from Patna, and one each from Banka and Jehanabad. The toll increased to 242 in Patna on October 16. A Bihar Minister also died due to Corona on October 16, 2020.
