Patna : The number of COVID-19 cases jumped to 1,92,671 in Bihar on October 8, 2020, afternoon, as 1,244 more persons including 312 from Patna, 52 from Muzaffarpur, 50 each from Madhubani and Araria, 48 from East Champaran, and 43 from Nalanda tested positive to it on October 7, 2020.
According to State Health Department data, 42 persons from Supaul, 41 from Gaya, 35 from Lakhisarai, 33 from Nawada, 33 from Saharsa, 32 from Katihar, 30 from Purnia, 29 each from Saran and Madhepura, 25 each from Rohtas and Vaishali, 24 each from Bhagalpur, Aurangabad, Gopalganj, Munger, and Sheikhpura, 22 each from Jehanabad, Banka, and West Champaran, and 18 from Bhojpur, also tested positive to COVID-19 on October 7, 2020.
Of the 1,92,671 COVID-19 cases reported in Bihar till date, altogether 1,80,357 patients have been declared cured including 1,006 during last 24 hours with the recovery rate being 93.61%. The state has tested 81,00,131 samples till date including 1,04,537 on October 4, 2020. The number of active cases in Bihar was 11,384 on October 8, 2020.
The COVID-19 toll increased to 929 in Bihar on October 8, 2020, with two new deaths being reported in the state during last 24 hours including one each from Patna and Saran. The toll increased to 224 in Patna on October 8.
