Patna : The number of COVID-19 surged to 1,71,465 in Bihar on September 22, 2020, afternoon, as 1,609 persons including 202 from Patna, 135 from Rohtas, 118 from Purnia, 110 from Muzaffarpur, on September 21, 2020, in the state.
According to State Health Department figure, 76 persons from Araria, 59 from Nalanda, 51 from Begusarai, 51 from Supaul, 49 from East Champaran, 49 from Madhepura, 44 from Madhubani, 42 from Gopalganj, 42 from Katihar, 42 from West Champarn, and 38 from Saran also tested positive to COVID on September 21, 2020.
Of the 1,71,465 COVID-19 cases reported in the state so far, altogether 1,57,056 patients ave been declared cured including 1,232 during last 24 hours with the recovery rate being 91.60%. The number of active cases was 13,535 in Bihar on September 22, 2020. The State tested 1,94,088 COVID samples on September 21, 2020. On September 20, 2020, a total of 1,73,603 samples were tested in the state.
The COVID-19 death toll increased to 873 in Bihar on September 22, 2020, with three new deaths being reported in the state during last 24 hours including one each from Patna, Saran, and Gaya.
