Patna : COVID-19 cases rose to 1,52,192 in Bihar on September 9, 2020, as 1,498 more persons including 203 from Patna, 111 from Saharsa, 68 from Muzaffarpur, 61 from Bhagalpur, 61 from Nalanda, 58 from Araria, 55 from Purnia, 52 from Kishanganj, 50 from Darbhanga, 50 from Gopalganj, and 47 from Madhepura, and 41 from Saran, tested positive to it on September 8, 2020.
Of the 1,52,192 COVID-19 cases reported till date in Bihar, a total of 1,35,791 patients have been declared cured/discharged till September 9, 2020, including 1,702 during last 24 hours with the recovery rate being 89.22%. The state has so far tested 44,50,714 COVID-19 samples including 1,22,121 on September 8, 2020. The number of active cases in Bihar was 15,625 on September 9. Senior RJD leader and former Minister Abdul Bari Siddiqui has also tested positive to COVID-19.
The COVID-19 death jumped to 775 in Bihar on September 9 with ten new deaths being reported from different places including five from East Champaran, two from Madhepura, and one each from Gaya, Patna, and Samastipur. The toll increased to 178 in Patna on September 9.
