Patna : COVID-19 cases increased to 1,42,156 in Bihar on September 3, 2020, as 1,922 more persons including 255 from Patna, 121 from Madhubani, 121 from Araria, 113 from Muzaffarpur, 103 from Bhagalpur, tested positive to it on DSeptember 2, 2020.
According to State Health Department figure, 81 persons from East Champaran, 69 from Aurangabad, 67 from Purnia, 59 from Gaya, 59 from Supaul, 58 from Saharsa, 55 from Madhepura, 54 from Saran, 50 from Kishanganj, 48 from Sitamarhi, 46 from Kaimur, 46 from Katihar, 46 from Samastipur, and 41 from West Champaran also tested positive to COVID-19 on September 2, 2020, in the state.
Of the 1,42,156 COVI cases reported so far in Bihar, a total of 1,24,976 patients have been declared cured/ discharged including 1,572 during last 24 hours with the recovery rate being 87.91 %. Altogether 35,71,055 COVID-19 samples have been tested in Bihar till date including 1,40,931 on September 2, 2020. The number of active cases in the state was 16,451 on September 3, 2020.
The COVID-19 toll, on the other hand, jumped to 728 in Bihar on September 3, 2020, with six new deaths being reported from different places in the state including one each from Bhojpur, Vaishali, West Champaran, Nalanda, Sheikhpura, and Samastipur. The dceased included wife of a Bihar Minister.
Araria District in eastern Bihar has reported 3,388 COVID cases till date while Madhubani District in North Bihar has reported 4,905 cases. Patna has reported 21,833 cases while Katihar has reported 4,723 cases. Muzaffarpur has reported 6,226 COVID cases while Nalanda has reported 4,699 cases till date.
