Patna : The COVID-19 cases rose to 1,40,234 in Bihar at 4 pm on September 2, 2020, as 1,969 more persons including 225 from Patna, 176 from Araria, 116 from Madhubani, 93 from Kishanganj, 91 from Purnia, 83 from East Champaran, 76 from Muzaffarpur, 71 from Saharsa, 58 from Rohtas, 55 from Bhagalpur, 54 from West Champaran, 54 from Bhojpur, 49 from Gaya, 47 from Gopalganj, tested positive to it on September 1, 2020.
Of the 1,40,234 COVID reported in Bihar, a total of 1,23,404 have been declared cured/discharged including 1,803 during last 24 hours with the recovery rate being 88%. The state has so far tested 34,30,124 COVID samples including 1,27,404 on September 1, 2020. The number of active cases in Bihar stands 16,107 as on September 2, 2020.
COVID death toll, on the other hand, jumped to 722 in the state with 13 new deaths being reported from different places during last 24 hours including six from Patna, four from Siwan, two from Madhubani, and one from Samadtipur. The toll has jumped to 172 in Patna.
