Patna : The COVID-19 cases in Bihar jumped to 1,35,013 on August 30, 2020, as 2,078 more people including 253 from Patna, 116 from Madhubani, 112 from Saharsa, 100 from Purnia,and 101 from Araria tested positive to it on August 29, 2020.
According to State Health Department Sources, 89 persons from Begusarai, 84 from Muzaffarpur, 80 from East Champaran, 79 from Bhojpur, 78 from West Champaran, 64 from Aurangabad, 56 from Samastipur, 50 from Rohtas, 49 from Nalanda, 48 from Madhepura, 47 from Saran, 46 from Gaya, 46 from Jehanabad, 46 from Katihar, also tested positive to COVID-19 on August 29, 2020.
Of the 1,35,013 COVID-19 cases detected in Bihar till date, a total of 1,17,305 patients have been declared cured including 2,231 during last 24 hours with the recovery rate being 86.88%. Altogether 30,97,137 COVID samples have been tested in Bihar so far including 1,07,730 on August 29, 2020. The number of active cases in the state was 17,019 on August 30, 2020.
The COVID-19 death toll in Bihar has climbed to 684 with 9 new deaths being reported from different places during last 24 hours including five from Patna, two from Begusarai, and one each from Nalanda and Sitamarhi. The toll in Patna jumped to 161 on August 30, 2020.
