Patna : COVID-19 cases jumped to 1,12,759 in Bihar on August 19, 2020, as 2,884 more persons including 422 from Patna, 181 from East Champaran, 173 from Muzaffarpur, 118 from Rohtas, 115 from Madhubani, 113 from Sitamarhi, 108 from Saharsa, 104 from Purnia, and 103 from Begusarai, tested positive to it on August 18, 2020.
According to State Health Department Sources, 98 person from Saran, 86 from Katihar, 78 from Gaya, 74 from Nalanda, 74 from Araria, 70 from Bhagalpur, 60 from Siwan, 59 from West Champaran, 58 from Bhojpur, and 54 from Kishanganj, also tested positive for COVID on August 18, 2020.
A total of 84,578 COVID patients have been declared cured in Bihar till date including 3,838 during last 24 hours with the recovery rate being 75.01%. Altogether 20,08,149 COVID samples have been tested in the state till date.
The COVID death toll in Bihar jumped to 568 with 10 new deaths being reported from different parts of the state during last 24 hours including seven from Patna, and one each from Gaya, Khagaria, and Darbhanga. The toll increased to 114 in Patna on August 19, 2020.
