New Delhi : The number of Coronavirus (COVID-19) patients getting cured crossed four lakh mark in India at 8 am on July 5, 2020, reaching 4,09,082, an increase of 14,856 during last 24 hours exceeding the number of active cases by 1,64,268. The number of active cases stands at 2,44,814 in the country.

On the negative side, C)VID-19 death toll surged to 19,268 on the day with 613 new deaths being reported from different parts of the country including 295 from Maharashtra, 81 from Delhi, 65 from Tamilnadu, 42 from Karnataka, 24 from UP, 21 from Gujarat, during last 24 hours.

COVID-19 death toll break-up in India is : Maharashtra (8,671), Delhi (3,004), Gujarat (1,925), Tamilnadu (1,450), UP (773), West Bengal (736), MP (598), Rajasthan (447),  Telengana (288), Karnataka (335), Haryana (260), Andhra Pradesh (218), Punjab (162), J&K (127),  Bihar (89), Uttarakhand (42), Odisha (34), Kerala (25), Jharkhand (17), Chhattisgarh (14), Assam (14), Puducherry (12), Himachal Pradesh (11), Chandigarh (6), Goa (6), Arunachal Pradesh (1), Ladakh(1), Meghalaya (1), and Tripura (1).

In Maharashtra, 1,08,082 patients have been cured till date followed by 68,256 in Delhi, 60,592 in Tamilnadu,25,406 in Gujarat, 18,154 in Uttar Prasdesh, 15,640 in Rajasthan, 14,166 in West Bengal,  12,257 in Haryana, 11,537 in Telengana, 11,234 in MP, 9,244 in Karnataka, 8,686 in Bihar, 8,008 in Andhra Pradsesh, 6,657 in Assam, and 4,306 in Punjab. The recovery rate had increased to 60.81%on July 4, 2020, evening.

The efforts to expand the testing labs network in the country have led to their numbers increasing and there are 1,087 labs in the country including 780 labs in the government sector and 307 private labs.
