Patna : Forty-two persons including 12 from Khagaria, eight from Banka, six from Saharsa, four from Supaul districts, and two each from Kishanganj, Madhepura, Begusarai, and Jamui tested positive to novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) during last 12 hours taking the total to 1,326 in Bihar on May 18, 2020. One confirmed case each was also reported from Barh (Patna), Munger, Purnia. Eight persons have died due to Coronavirus in Bihar till date.
In Khagaria District in North Bihar, three cases were reported from Gourachak, two each from Gogri, Beldaur and Khagaria Sadar, one each from Sadar, Islampur, Murkahi, Manichak. In Banka District, two cases each were reported from Rajaun and Meharpur Dara, and one each from Belhar, Amarpur, Balimara, and Fulli Dumar.In Kishanganj, one case each was reported from Thakurganj and Kochadhaman.
In Saharsa, two cases each were reported from Nariyar and Kahra while one case each was reported from Saharsa Basti and Madanpur. In Supaul, one case each was reported from Sadar, Nirmali, and Pipra, while in Madhepura, one case each was reported from Singheshwar and Gamharia. In Jamui, two cases were reported from Sadar area.
Meanwhile, job cards were distributed among migrant workers at a quarantine centre under Goraul Block in Vaishali District on May 18, 2020.
