Patna : COVID-19 cases rose to 94,459 in Bihar on August 13, 2020, afternoon, with 3,906 more persons including 399 from Patna, 220 from East Champaran, 200 from Katihar, 197 from Begusarai, 179 from Gaya, 175 from Saharsa, 163 from Araria, 159 from Madhubani, 133 from Sitamarhi, 130 from Purnia, 127 from Jehanabad, 118 from Buxar, 110 from Nalanda, 108 from Darbhanga, 103 from Kaimur, testing positive to it on August 12, 2020.
According to State Health Department sources, 98 persons in Saran, 94 persons in Rohtas, 88 persons in Muzaffarpur, 86 persons in Khagaria, 79 persons in West Champaran, 72 in Bhojpur, 67 in Aurangabad, 66 in Bhagalpur, 64 each in Samastipur and Arwal, and 62 each in Madhepura and Sheikhpura, also tested positive to COVID-19 on August 13.
A total of 62,507 COVID patients have been declared cured in the state till date with the recovery rate being 66.17 %. This includes 2,439 patients cured during last 24 hours. The number of active cases stands at 31,467 in Bihar as on August 13, 2020.
COVI death toll in Bihar, on the other hand, has climbed to 484 with 10 new deaths being reported from different parts of the state during past 24 hours including two from Rohtas, two from Gaya, and one each from Begusarai, East Champaran, Darbhanga, Vaishali, Muzaffarpur, and Saran. A retired 1980 batch IAS officer of Bihar cadre Manoj Kumar Srivastava died due to Coronavirus at Patna on August 13, 2020. Patna has reported 15,381 COVID cases till date.
